Iranian ‘Yellow’ snatches two awards at Russian filmfest

Iranian film ‘Yellow’ grabs two titles at the Bridge of Arts filmfest in Russia.

Iranian film ‘Yellow’ has snatched two titles at the third edition of the "Bridge of Arts" International Motivational Film Festival in Russia.

Directed by Mostafa Taghizadeh, ‘Yellow’ won the awards for best picture as well as best script at the closing of the Russian event on August 27.

A brief synopsis of ‘Yellow’, slated to hit Iranian cinema theaters soon, reads “We are strange people... Our present is very different than our future.”

This is a drama about people’s relations, goals and their achievements. The film poses a question: what each of us would do and choose if we were in the Iranian scientists’ place?

 ‘Yellow’ features popular Iranian actors such as Bahram Radan, Sareh Bayat, Mehrdad Seddiqian, Bahareh Kianafshar, Shahram Haqiqatdoust, Alireza Ostadi, Hossein Mehri, Anahita Dargahi, Morteza Taghizadeh, Amir-Ali Nabavian and Ali Salehi.

The movie has also received two awards for best director and best actress at the 20th edition of the Shanghai International Film Festival in China in June 2017.

Bridge of Arts has gained a status of a high level event of film industry, tourism, education, sports and culture. Participation of noted filmmakers and film stars from all around the globe ranks the festival as a prestigious event. Each year it develops new directions and attracts renowned guests.

The festival’s 3rd edition was held on August 23-27 in Rostov.
